I haven’t bought commercial all-purpose cleaning spray in years. Literally. I can’t even imagine how much money this has saved our family, not to mention how many pieces of trash have been saved from the landfills by reusing the same bottles over and over.
Over the years I have tried many different cleaning recipes found in books, magazines and online, but I stopped looking a year ago when I found this Miracle Spray on the lovely blog The Bluebirds are Nesting.
I love the smell.
I love that I have everything on hand in my well-stocked home to make this at any time.
I love that I can make it in a (reused) gallon container and refill my (resued) spray bottles as needed.
And, of course, I love how well this cleans all the messes in my home.
- 2 cups boiling water
- 11 cups cooler water
- 4 tablespoons washing soda
- 2-⅔ cups plain white vinegar
- ½ cup Dawn dish soap
- One 15mL bottle eucalyptus essential oil
I reuse a one gallon vinegar jug for this. Put washing soda into a jug. Pour hot water over and shake and let dissolve. Add vinegar, essential oil and most of the cool water. Leave enough space at the top to pour in the dish soap. If there is still room at the top, add a bit more water. I leave enough room to gently shake it to mix before use. Pour into a spray bottle.
If you find this is too soapy or strong for your intended use, you might try filling the spray bottle only part way and diluting with water.
I get my essential oils from doTERRA. If you have any questions about essential oils, their uses, or the doTERRA company, I invite you to comment below! You can also see and purchase the complete doTERRA product line here.
